Comments: The Windthorst versus Flatonia semi-final was a slobber knocker that paired the two best class 1A teams. Iola and Kipperl are very talented. Iola's scrappy and tenacious and Kopperl has good size and skill but neither team was at the par of Flatonioa and Windthorst.

Comments: Bushland showed great prowess to oust three time defending champion Poth. Centerville finally got past Leon in both district and the playoffs. Big Sandy Harmony played their best match in the regional finals to oust Lexington while Wallis Brazos was a great team that ran into Poth in the regional Semifinals.

Comments: Six rings in nine years, Lee Grisham and his Wimberley Texans showed that ball control is the top asset of a great team. Patty Dominguez and Monahans had a great season as did White Oak and a very athletic bunch from Columbus that beat strong teams from Hutto and China Spring to get to state. Canyon and Borger had good runs as did Palacios, LaVernia and Royse City.

Comments: Experience proved critical as Waco Midway made the most of their return to state.
Friendswood had the best showing of the Region IV teams since the Mustangs won the title over Austin McCallum in 1994. The best district in the state Class 4A, in my opinion, is District 3 which gave us region finalists Canyon Randall and Dumas after the Demonettes had beaten Hereford. New Braunfels Canyon had a good showing while McKinney had a very successful season and Calallen is becoming a South Texas power.

Comments: Amarillo was outstanding and setter Brianne Barker is amazing. Westlake is second to best while Cy-Fair was very athletic and both Plano West and Lake Highlands had great seasons. The Arlington schools are very strong while Clear Creek had a great run and Region IV with Westlake, Reagan, O'Connor, and Churchill is very good.
