Rally Scoring Regulations for Varsity Volleyball Matches

All varsity matches, with the exception of matches played during a tournament, must use the 3 out of 5 format. This includes dual matches. All dual matches must be played using the 3 out of 5 format. No Exceptions.

BREAKING DISTRICT TIES IN VOLLEYBALL

To resolve a two-way district tie, the district executive committee may authorize a single elimination match, provided only one other match is played that calendar week. This match may NOT be played as an exception to the school week limitation since it is not considered post-district competition. If either school played a match on Tuesday, the district tiebreaker match could not be played until Friday after school or Saturday.

Volleyball - Pool Play Games and Overall Win/Loss Record
(UIL Clarification)
During tournament play, specifically during pool play, mini-games (2 games to 15) do NOT count on a team's overall win/loss record. If teams are playing regulation matches during pool play (i.e. 2 out of 3 to 25 OR 3 out of 5 to 25), these matches WOULD count on your overall win/loss record.

It is permissible to play regulation length matches during pool play provided no team exceeds their total number of allowed matches per day (3 matches per day during a three-day tournament; 4 matches per day during a two-day tournament or a one-day tournament scheduled on a Saturday).
