Nominations
Instructions and Guidelines
October
15th is the last date for track coaches to become a member of the TGCA and
be eligible to nominate athletes for track honors.
Monday
noon, prior to the state track & field meet is
the deadline for all nominations: All-Star, All-State, Academic All-State, Athlete
of the Year and Coach of the Year.
All nomination forms must be sent
to TGCA by submitting online
or mailed to TGCA (1603 Manor Road, Austin,
TX 78722).
All nominations received after this deadline will be invalid.
The deadline will be rigidly enforced by policy of the TGCA Board.
All-State
Nomination Guidelines:
1. All-State athletes are NOT
required to be SENIORS.
2. Coaches may nominate as many of their own players
as they choose.
3. Times and distances must be included. Times and distances
from meets only will be accepted. If asked, you must be able to verify times and
distances. No times or distances from practices will be accepted.
Academic
All-State Guidelines:
1. Academic All-State athletes
MUST BE GRADUATING SENIORS.
2. Must have an overall GPA average of 94 for
grades 9-11.
(Do NOT submit a nomination if your athlete does not meet this
GPA requirement)
3. Must be a varsity participant in good standing and be
of good moral character.
All-Star
Nomination Guidelines:
1. All Stars MUST BE SENIORS.
2. Coaches may nominate more than one athlete
and in more than one event; however, only one track all-star will be selected
from any one school and for only one event.
3. Track and field all-stars
may be cross country, volleyball, basketball or softball all-stars.
4.
All-Stars will be selected in two divisions: 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A, 5A.
5.
One outstanding track and field athlete will be selected in each division for
participation in more than one event.
6. An athlete selected as a track
all-star automatically becomes a nominee for track athlete of the year.
