TRACK & FIELD ALL-STAR COACHES SELECTION PLAN

I. ASSOCIATION COACHES

Member varsity track and field coaches of TGCA may nominate two coaches in either division (1A-2A-3A or 4A-5A) for All-Star coach honors. Starting in the 2007-08 school year TGCA members selected as All-Star coaches may serve as an All-Star coach twice, once as the head coach and once as the assistant.

Two coaches will be selected from each division.

The nominees must be head varsity track coaches and have been a member of the TGCA by the November 1st deadline.

On-line nominations are to be submitted no later than Monday noon prior to the state track meet.

II. TRACK COMMITTEE CHAIR

Will present a list of nominees to the Track Committee at the meeting during the UIL state track meet.

III. TRACK COMMITTEE

Will select two coaches from each division (1A-2A-3A and 4A-5A) as All-Star track coaches.
The selections will be made at the Track Committee meeting during the UIL state track meet.

IV. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Will receive the selections from the Track Committee Chair. After verification, the All-Star

track coaches will be notified (in writing) at which time they must agree to:

(1) Attend orientation of Track & Field and Cross Country All-Stars.

(2) Conduct the All-Star track demonstration at the Summer Clinic with the

Track & Field and Cross Country All-Stars.

(4) Attend the Track & Field and Cross Country All-Star awards presentation at half-time of the 1A-2A-3A basketball All-Star game.
