Cross Country All-State Selection Plan

 

 

I.          Cross Country All-Star and All-State Committee

 

            At the Summer Clinic, each region selects two representatives and two alternates

            to serve a two-year term on the All-Star and All-State Selection Committee. 

            Committee members shall be selected from 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A schools in

            even numbered years.  In odd numbered years, committee members shall be

            selected from 5A, 6A schools.

 

            One alternate will be elected from each division.  The committee will meet at the

            State Cross Country Meet to determine the All-State selections.  An All-State

            Team of up to 50 athletes from each conference (1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A, 6A), will be

            selected.

 

 

II.          Association Coaches

 

            A.  Athletes may be nominated by member Cross Country coaches only.

 

            B.  On-line nominations must be made to TGCA by Monday noon prior to the State

                 Cross Country Meet.

 

            C.  Coaches may nominate as many athletes as they wish.

 

            D.  Times must be included.  Times from meets only will be accepted.  If asked,

                  you must be able to verify times.  No times from practices will be accepted.

 

 

III.         General Chairperson

 

            The general Chairperson will accept the final selections from the Cross Country

            Committee and submit those selections to the Executive Director for verification.

 

 

IV.        Executive Director

 

            After verification of the selections, the Executive Director will prepare a

            certificate for each athlete.  The Cross Country All-State Teams will also be

            posted on the TGCA website.
