TO: SENIOR REGIONAL DIRECTORS
As the
Senior Director for your region, it is your responsibility to preside at the
regional meeting, at which time coaches are elected to fill positions in
the
Texas Girls Coaches Association.
**Only coaches that are willing to give time and effort to the Association should
**be elected to these positions. It is important that those elected will be able to
**attend the meetings to represent their region and sport.
The following should be elected:
1. ONE JUNIOR DIRECTOR to serve a four year term.
In even years, elect one Junior Director in each even numbered region.
In odd years, elect one Junior Director in each odd numbered region.
2. ALTERNATE DIRECTOR to serve as an alternate for two years.
An alternate shall be selected each year that a Junior Director is elected.
An Alternate Director will fill a vacated position if a Director should resign during the
year.
3. NOMINATING COMMITTEE MEMBER to serve on the committee which meets
during the general business meeting for the purpose of nominating a Second Vice
President.
4. ONE JUNIOR MEMBER FOR EACH COMMITTEE: VOLLEYBALL,
BASKETBALL, TRACK AND FIELD and SOFTBALL to serve a two year term.
NOTE: FOR VOLLEYBALL, BASKETBALL, TRACK AND FIELD
and SOFTBALL COMMITTEES
Junior committee members shall be elected from Division I (1A, 2A, 3A) in even
numbered years. In odd numbered years, junior committee members shall be elected
from Division II (4A, 5A).
NOTE: FOR VOLLEYBALL REGIONS III, VI, AND VII
For the selection of volleyball All-Stars only, Regions III, VI, and VII must have
representation from both east and west All-Star sections and in their division. If the
two elected Volleyball Committee members are from different All-Star sections and
divisions, no additional All-Star Selection Committee member will be elected.
However, if both elected Volleyball Committee members are from the same All-Star
section and division, an additional All-Star Selection Committee member must
be selected for the section and region not represented.
5. TWO ALTERNATE
MEMBERS FOR EACH COMMITTEE: VOLLEYBALL,
BASKETBALL,
TRACK AND FIELD and SOFTBALL
One alternate member elected from Division I (1A, 2A, 3A) and one from Division II
(4A, 5A). Elect one alternate member from Division I schools (Conferences 1A, 2A,
3A) and one alternate member from Division II schools (Conferences 4A, 5A).
6. ONE SUB-VARSITY JUNIOR COMMITTEE MEMBER to serve a two year term.
7. ONE ALTERNATE MEMBER FOR SUB-VARSITY COMMITTEE to serve a one
year term.
8. FIVE BASKETBALL ALL-STATE COMMITTEE MEMBERS
Elect one coach from each of the five conferences --1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A -- to serve
one year.
9. FIVE TRACK AND FIELD ALL-STATE COMMITTEE MEMBERS
Elect one coach from each of the five conferences --1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A -- to serve
one year.
10. FIVE SOFTBALL ALL-STATE COMMITTEE MEMBERS
Elect one coach from each of the five conferences --1A, 2A, 3A, 4A, 5A -- to serve
one year.
11. TWO CROSS COUNTRY ALL-STATE AND ALL-STAR COMMITTEE
MEMBERS
Junior committee members shall be elected from Division I (1A, 2A, 3A) in even
numbered years.
In odd numbered years, junior committee members shall be elected from
Division II (4A, 5A).
12. TWO ALTERNATE CROSS COUNTRY ALL-STAR AND ALL-STATE
COMMITTEE MEMBERS.
Junior alternate committee members shall be elected from Division I (1A, 2A, 3A)
in even numbered years. In odd numbered years, junior committee members shall be
elected from Division II (4A, 5A).
