SOFTBALL

SELECTION GUIDELINES

Member coaches of the Texas Girls Coaches Association have the privilege

of nominating an outstanding senior to be named as Athlete of the Year in cross

country, volleyball, basketball, track and field or softball. The head varsity coach

of any athlete or support staff receiving an award must be a member in good standing

by the membership nomination deadline. This also applies to Athlete of the Year, Coach

of the Year, and All-Star Coach honors.

All nomination forms must be sent to TGCA by:

Nominees must fulfill the following requirements:

1. Be a senior.

2. Be an outstanding athlete in her sport (cross country, volleyball, basketball, track and field and softball).

3. Demonstrate positive character traits (honesty, loyalty, leadership, cooperative attitude ).

Two Athletes of the Year will be selected for Softball at the UIL Softball State Tournament;
one athlete from a 1A-2A-3A school and one athlete from a 4A-5A school.
