I. STATE SELECTION COMMITTEE:
Shall be composed of the regional Softball Committee members from the Red and
Blue
sections of the state. The Softball
Committee will meet during the
softball tournament. A Chair will be appointed for the Red
section and one
for the Blue section of the state. These sections will then be separated into two
further divisions: 1A-2A-3A and 4A-5A. It shall be the responsibility of each
divisional
committee to select 14 players as the team to represent their section and
division (1A-2A-3A and 4A-5A)
of the state and 10 alternates for each team.
The
positions for players to be selected are as follows:

The Red
section is made up of Regions 1, 3,
4 and 6; while the Blue section is composed of Regions 2, 5,

II. SOFTBALL COMMITTEE MEMBERS:
Their responsibility is to screen the nominations for the All-Stars from their region.
Nominated
players must be SENIORS.
Two
athletes from the same school can be named to an All-Star team. Clarification: The Softball Committee will
have the option of selecting two
The
high school varsity head girls softball coach must be a member of TGCA by the November 1st
deadline before the school is eligible to have a
A
coach may nominate as many of his/her players for All-Star as desired.
Coaches should be aware that the
selected All-Stars must attend the first meeting of
the All-Stars with the officials of the TGCA in the host city for the Summer
Clinic as well as all workout sessions and the All-Star game.
III. ASSOCIATION COACHES:
Their responsibility is to submit nominations for the All-Star teams to TGCA on
or before the deadline (Monday
IV. CHAIR OF
THE SOFTBALL COMMITTEE:
Will preside over committees at the
state softball tournament, collect the final selections of
all committees and give them to the Executive Director for verification.
V. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR:
Shall accept the final selection for All-Stars and alternates by the Red and Blue
committees from the Chair of the Softball Committee and will verify these players
after the state tournament. The Executive Director will keep a list of the players
selected until after the upcoming All-Star game. This list may be made available
to any member coach who may ask for a copy of same. The Executive Director
will contact the selected All-Stars in writing through their high school coach.
ALTERNATES:
The use of alternates will be governed as follows:
Alternates will be contacted in the order they are selected - the first alternate will
be asked to participate in the All-Star game; then the second alternate will be
contacted, etc. until the list is completed - and for the position they are selected.
Official notification of an alternate will be made by the Executive Director ONLY.
The Red includes TGCA Regions 1, 3, 4 and 6.
The Blue includes Regions 2, 5, 7 and 8.
