Sub-Varsity Coaches

The Texas Girls Coaches Association will present plaques to sub-varsity coaches each year at the summer clinic. A Sub-Varsity Coach-of-the-Year will be selected for each sport (Cross-Country, Volleyball, Basketball, Track & Field and Softball) from 1A-2A-3A schools, and for each sport from 4A-5A schools. These coaches will be announced and receive their awards at the Honor Awards Luncheon.

Any TGCA member in good standing can nominate a coach for this honor. Nomination forms will soon be posted on the website. The nominee should then be contacted, as a letter of recommendation must also be submitted by the nominee's head coach and an administrator. Nominations and letters of recommendation must be received in the TGCA office by April 1, 2006.

The Sub-Varsity Coach-of-the-Year Selection Committee will meet during the state Track & Field meet to make final selections. This committee will be a nine-member committee consisting of the senior members of the Sub-Varsity Committee (Sub-Varsity Committee Chair included) and the Sub-Varsity Committee Vice Chair.
