BYLAWS
OF THE TEXAS GIRLS COACHES ASSOCIATION Section
1. Classification. The membership of TGCA shall be composed
of active, allied, associate and student members.
A.
Active members shall be those persons in good standing
and who are coaches of elementary and secondary schools and athletic
directors who are actively coaching Texas interscholastic sports
for girls. Any active member who leaves the coaching field shall
automatically become an associate member for the remainder of
the current year. B. Allied
members shall be those persons in good standing and who are
coaching in colleges, junior colleges and universities or who
are out-of-state coaches. Allied members shall not be eligible
to vote or hold office in TGCA. C. Associate
members shall be those persons in good standing and who are: interested
in the girls' coaching field but not actively coaching Texas interscholastic
sports for girls at the time of joining; businesses in good standing
who are interested in girls' athletics. Associate members shall not
be eligible to vote or hold office in TGCA and will not receive
a membership card. D. Student
members shall be those persons in good standing who are currently
full time students in an accredited college or university. Student
members shall not be eligible to vote or hold office in TGCA. Section 2. Honorary Member. The board of directors
may present honorary membership to persons who have made outstanding
contributions to the advancement of girls' athletics. A special scroll
or other suitable award may be presented. Honorary members shall not
be eligible to vote or hold office in TGCA. Section 3. Good Standing. A member in good standing
is one whose annual dues are current.
